Nova Embellished Beanie in Boiled Wool

A knit beanie featuring a custom 925 sterling silver chain embellishment. The chain features an asymmetrical design—one side extends farther than the other—with links that gradually taper in size toward the terminal end. This diminishing scale creates visual movement and balanced weight distribution, allowing the longer side to drape naturally.

Constructed from boiled superfine wool, the beanie is first knitted at a high density and then subjected to controlled agitation in hot water. This boiling process causes the wool scales to interlock and mat, shrinking the knit by 20–30% while creating a compact, felt-like surface reminiscent of fleece.

Overlock seams remain exposed throughout, with visible chain-stitch construction at the crown seam and toward the brim. The raw overlock edges intentionally reveal the garment’s assembly process, creating a textural contrast against the smooth felted surface and emphasizing an outdoor aesthetic through visible construction methods.
